Raphael Ding has over 27 years of experience in the accountancy profession, including more than seven years at the Institute as the director of professional conduct from 1994 to 2001 and 20 years with major international accounting firms in the U.K. and Hong Kong. He was a member of the Institute council from 2008 to 2012 and has been an advisor to the China Ministry of Finance and Chinese Institute of CPAs on the convergence of Chinese financial reporting and auditing standards with Hong Kong and international standards, and a member of the financial reporting review panel of the Financial Reporting Council.  He also served as a member of the Hong Kong SAR Government Commission on Strategic Development between November 2005 and June 2007 and as a member of the Central Policy Unit Panel on the Pan-Pearl River Delta between 2006 and 2009.  Before assuming his current position with the Institute, Raphael worked as non-executive and executive directors of Guoco Group Limited, a Hong Kong listed investment and management company, and Lam Soon (Hong Kong) Limited, a Hong Kong listed food and household care products company.
