DBM Guest Lecture Series | Practical Issues in Group Consolidation

On 17 April, the guest speaker Dr Pok Man Kam gave a lecture 'Practical Issues in Group Consolidation' to DBM students in campus. Dr Kam discussed practical issues in group consolidation, including cross-holding and determination of fair values in business combinations. From the lecture, students have a basic understanding of consolidation.

Dr Pok Man Kam, Former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council

 

Dr Kam holds a PhD Degree in Accounting from the University of the Sunshine Coast. He has over 40 years experience the accounting profession.He was the Group Financial Controller of Jardine Matheson from 1984 until his retirement from the Group in March 2010. Former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council. Dr Kam was a member of the IFRS Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Board from November 2005 to December 2011. He was the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1999 and 2000. He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, the Association of International Accountants and the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada. He is also an honorary member of CPA Australia.
