The Department of Accounting (DAcc) hosts nearly 1,200 undergraduate students. The faculty consists of 18 full-time members, including 4 associate professors, 8 assistant professors and 6 lecturers. 4 professors are qualified (associate) supervisors for PhD students in accounting. All faculty members graduated with a doctorate or master’s degree in international-reputation universities over the world, and possess professional qualifications and extensive industry experience.
The DAcc only offers one programme, i.e., BBA (Hons) in Accounting Programme. The Programme adheres to the concept of whole-person education and cultivates high-quality accounting professionals for the country and society. It provides students with a critical learning experience guided by professional principles. It aims to set up and improve its courses for the future, to meet the needs of the development of modern information science and technology. Following the accounting educational philosophy, the Programme develops and improves the curriculum and pedagogical systems based on international professional standards. Closely connected with professional practices, the Programme has been accredited by internationally renowned professional bodies, including the Hong Kong Institute of Certificated Public Accountants(HKICPA), the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK), and CPA Australia.
The DAcc is committed to enabling students to master the fundamental principles and knowledge of accounting, as well as various practical skills related to accounting. To cultivate globally-minded and multiple-disciplinary talents in accounting, auditing, finance, investment and taxation to achieve top-quality socio-economic developments in China, particularly in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
