Mission & Objectives:
Throughout the world, individuals of all national origins, ages, financial backgrounds, and capabilities are driven by their passions and dreams to manage new businesses. Transforming one’s innovative ideas into a profitable venture and the thrill of owning one’s business are intriguing and motivating. For students who aspire to become team leaders or entrepreneurs after graduation, their impetus and creativity give them an advantage. Nevertheless, their chance of being successful in today’s highly competitive environment depends very much on their abilities to select the appropriate approach to launch and manage their start-ups.
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation major provides the skills and knowledge for students to contribute to organizations that launch new products and enter new markets. In addition to becoming entrepreneurs, students with an entrepreneurship degree work as product managers, sales managers, business consultants, and development officers.
The curriculum of the proposed EPIN Programme will open the minds of those students who are fascinated by the accomplishments of successful managers or entrepreneurs as well as allow students who are entrepreneurially minded to better understand the processes and challenges of operating a business. Through project-based learning that will be covered in the major required courses, students will have ample opportunities to explore the field of entrepreneurship and innovation. They will discuss cases of real companies and analyse situations that present a dilemma or an opportunity. The curriculum not only introduces students to the challenges and rewards of being managers or entrepreneurs, but also provides them with the tools that they will need should they choose the entrepreneurial route.
