University of Kent Professor on Financial Crisis

Prof Roman Matousek

 

Prof Roman Matousek, professor of Banking and Finance from the University of Kent, UK, analysed the roots and consequences of the global financial crisis that unfolded in 2007-2008 for a UIC audience on 23 February.

 

Prof Matousek is a member of the prestigious Chartered Association of Business Schools International Committee. He served as Head of Research and Director of the Research Centre for EMEA Banking, Finance and Economics.

He said that the global financial crisis had a sustained influence on the financial environment, explaining why the crisis spread so quickly and globally. He went on discussing the appropriate interventions that governments should take and the approaches to restore market discipline and reform financial regulation.

 

This distinguished lecture was organised by the Division of Business and Management.

 

 

Prof Matousek is also Deputy School Director for International Affairs at Kent Business School. After the lecture, he hosted an information session regarding the Master programme at Kent Business School.
