he Division of Business and Management (DBM) of UIC has held the twelfth advisory committee meeting.
Chairman of the advisory committee, chairman of Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, Dr David Wong, hosted the meeting. External advisers include The Member of Legislative Council of HKSAR, Mr Fungkwok Ma; Principal Liaison Officer for Hong Kong, Prof Witman Hung; Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, Ms Carrie Leung; Partner of Deloitte, Mr Edward Au; Managing Director of Resolutions HR & Business Consultancy Co. Ltd, Mr Wilfred Wong.
UIC members include UIC President Prof Tang Tao; Dean of DBM, Prof Steve Liu Wenbin; Associate Dean of DBM, Dr Donna Chan; Assistant Deans of DBM, Dr Mi Lin and Dr Darren Weng. Associate Vice President (Student Development), Prof Stella Cho, and DBM programme directors attended the meeting.

At the meeting, President Tang introduced the recent development of UIC to the advisory committee. Subsequently, Prof Steve Liu reported on DBM’s significant development in the 2020-21academic year. He explained how DBM focused on recruiting top research/business talents, enhancing research capability and productivity, and collaborating with enterprises. He also introduced the future development of DBM.
In the discussion session, external advisory members put forward several practical suggestions on student evaluation reform and curriculum reform, internship and employment, school-enterprise cooperation, providing essential references for the future development of the department. Prof Steve Liu appreciated all committee members for their long-term support and guidance to DBM.
