Since 2020, three UIC undergraduate programmes have been rated the provincial first-class programmes by the Department of Education of Guangdong. They have been Applied Economics, Computer Science and Technology, and Statistics.
Applied Economics
The UIC Applied Economics (AE) programme nurtures analytical thinkers and rigorous problem-solvers. The AE curriculum helps students dissect managerial issues and problems with economic analyses and insights. With world-class faculty and teaching materials, the students acquire valuable skills in data analytics, public policy design and evaluation, and corporate strategy formulation. Computer Science and Technology
The Computer Science and Technology programme aims to prepare students for a career in computer science or information-technology related areas. Students will be well equipped to work in the industry or pursue postgraduate studies in China or abroad. In addition, graduates will have developed learning skills and the confidence to meet challenges in the rapidly changing world of information technology. By studying this programme, the students will benefit from a broad-based education as they pursue a technology education specialising in computer science. Accordingly, to provide students with Whole Person Education and encourage them to adopt lifelong learning habits, UIC requires students to study a range of general education and information technology courses to achieve a balanced liberal arts education. Statistics Programme
The Statistics Programme aims to prepare students for a career in Statistics related areas. Students will be equipped to work in industry and business or pursue postgraduate study in China or abroad. Graduates will have developed learning skills and have the confidence to meet the challenges in the rapidly changing world of Statistics.
