Upon the celebration of UIC’s 15th Anniversary, the 2020 Division of Business and Management (DBM) Student Final Year Project and Faculty Research Paper Poster Exhibition was officially unveiled on 1 December. A total of 46 student and faculty research papers were showcased at the exhibition, with some of the papers already published in top journals.
UIC President Professor Tang Tao, Vice President (Administration) Professor Mao Yaqing, Vice President (Research and Development) Professor Jia Weijia, Associate Vice President (Student Development) Professor Stella Cho, and the Dean of DBM, Professor Steve Liu unveiled the exhibition.
This exhibition displayed 22 Final Year Projects conducted by senior students in the academic year of 2019-2020, and 24 research papers written/co-written by DBM faculties. The projects covered accounting, finance, applied economics, human resource management, marketing management, e-commerce, and management of information system, as well as entrepreneurship and innovation management.

President Tang addressed in his remarks that there is no better way to allow teachers and students to share their accomplishments side by side, and such format will provide invaluable learning opportunities to the students through interactions with the FYP supervisors and faculty authors.
Prof Jia Weijia said that keeping curious and lifelong learning would be very beneficial to students’ academic research. He also mentioned that UIC has special funds for scientific research, which can provide supports such as patents, publications, and academic conferences for scientific research every year.
Prof Steve Liu encouraged all teachers from DBM to actively engage in academic research to strengthen their professional knowledge and expertise and particularly to look forward to their achievements in areas that are affected by emerging technologies.
