The theme of this conference fits Zhuhai's position as an important transport hub and an open frontier city. With its unique geographical location and open innovation atmosphere, Zhuhai is fast becoming the frontier of digital transformation and smart logistics. The conference will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing transport and supply chains in the context of both globalization and digitalization. The world experiences different risks which lead to disruptions in transport and supply chains, notably a shortage of reliable methods in enhancing their resilience, such as the lack of scientifically robust data, unreliable models/methods, and poor communication of vulnerability findings with stakeholders. These are all research challenges that, until now, have yet to be dealt with holistically in literature and cannot be solved easily without developing new risk schemes and exchanging knowledge between the domains of climate adaptation, security, and safety across the different transport and supply chain components. Hence, the conference aims to explore and quantify the risks and develop a rational planning methodology, as well as develop new theoretical and methodological frameworks in the research of transport and supply chain resilience, as well as resilience in general.
