Abstract:

On August 14, China took a step further: its Ministry of Commerce announced that a pilot run of the country’s CBDC would begin in several new areas very soon, the Greater Bay Area (GBA) among them, which includes the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau. Thus far, the tests in the Mainland have proven to be very successful.

In this seminar, Dr. Caudevilla will analyze what opportunities the Digital Yuan will offer to Mainland China, but also to Shenzhen and to the rest of the Greater Bay Area.  

About the Speaker:

Dr. Caudevilla holds a Diploma on Asian Finance from CUHK Business School and a PhD from Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) ( 巴塞罗那自治大学). He works as a Chief Strategy Officer at ScallopX, Management Consultant at AirHelp, advisor or FinTech mentor for some companies. He is member of the Blockchain, Digital Banking and Greater Bay Area Committees at the Fintech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK), as well as the Singapore Fintech Association (SFA).
