Abstract:

In today's challenging global macroeconomic environment, entrepreneurship is increasingly looked at as one of the solutions to the worlds woes and career pathways. More and more students are chosen to become entrepreneurs after graduating from university. Thus, building a robust and global entrepreneurship ecosystem is a critical factor for students long-term success and the sustainable development of entrepreneurship. In this talk, Stuart will talk about building the university-based global entrepreneurial ecosystem in three areas: entrepreneurial education, business incubator and global connection. These practices are from Stuart's many years of experience in advanced education, financial industry, and business incubator.


About the Speaker

Stuart Henrickson is Chairman of Red Leaf Capital and Chairman of the Board of Directors of North Forge which is western Canada's largest technology incubator. Stuart graduated from the Faculty of Business, University of Manitoba in 1985 with a Bachelor of Information Management, received his MBA from University of Calgary, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (ICFA) in the U.S. Stuart has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of financial investment and corporate management. Stuart has more than 30 years of experience in financial investment and corporate management, having completed seven times of IPO, more than 15 bond offerings, 20 private placements, and 80 bank financing recordings with an aggregate transaction value of more than $20 billion.
