Professor Atreyi Kankanhalli

Speaker Bio

Atreyi Kankanhalli is the Provost's Chair Professor in the Dept. of Information Systems and Analytics, School of Computing at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She has served as Deputy Head (Research and Administration), Assistant Dean (Research) and Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Studies) at the School of Computing. She has been the Coordinator of the Service Systems Innovation Research Laboratory at NUS. She obtained her B. Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, M.S. from RPI, New York, and Ph.D. from NUS. She has had visiting stints at the London School of Economics, University of California Berkeley, ESSEC Business School, and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Prior to joining NUS, she has considerable experience in industrial R&D. She has consulted for several organisations including World Bank and Bosch SEA.Professor Kankanhalli conducts research in the areas of online communities, digital collaboration, human-AI collaboration, digital transformation in Healthcare, and open innovation, with a range of organisations sponsored by government and industry grants. Her work has appeared in premium journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Research Policy, Journal of Management Information Systems, ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, Journal of AIS, Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, International Journal of Human Computer Studies, Communications of the ACM, and Decision Support Systems. Her research has been presented at leading conferences including ICIS, Academy of Management Meeting, HICSS, and WITS. She has over 200 publications which have been highly cited.

Professor Carol Hsu

Speaker Bio

Carol Hsu is the Professor and the Head of Business Information Systems Discipline at the University of Sydney Business School. She received her Ph.D. in Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research interests broadly centre around the institutional influences and cultural practices on the use of information systems at the individual, organizational and interorganizational levels. She has a particular interest regarding these issues in the context of information security management and digital transformation. Her work has been published in MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, and other outlets. She has received the Sandra Slaughter Service Award from the Association of Information Systems. She currently serves as Senior Editor at the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, Information & Management and on the editorial board of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

Professor Guoqing Chen

Speaker Bio

Guoqing Chen currently is Tsinghua University Distinguished Professor of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, serves as Vice Chairman of Tsinghua University Research Council, and is Chair Professor at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM). Professor Chen now serves as Chair of Steering Panel for NSFC Grand Research Plan on big data; Chairman of China MOE’s Educational Steering Committee for Management Science and Engineering Disciplines; and Member of China State Informationization Advisory Committee. Professor Chen ever served as founding President for the China Chapter of Association for Information Systems (CNAIS), and Vice President of International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA). Professor Chen was awarded AIS Fellow, IFSA Fellow, and Fudan Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Management. He has had numerous publications worldwide such as in CACM, ISR, JAIS, JMIS, JOC, MISQ, POM, TFS, TKDE, TNNLS, etc., and was Principal Investigator for many research projects including NSFC Major Projects on emerging e-commerce and business intelligence.
