Call for Nomination
We would like to invite nominations for the 24th International Conference on Electronic Business (ICEB). The Doctoral Consortium will be held in person on 25 October 2024, in Zhuhai, China, just before the main conference. Eligible candidates are Ph.D. students in Management Information Systems (MIS) who have formulated their thesis plans and are seeking insightful feedback. The Consortium offers a unique platform for doctoral students to present their research proposals, engage in meaningful discussions, and receive mentorship from senior scholars. Our faculty mentors are distinguished researchers in MIS from leading institutions, many of whom hold senior editorial roles in leading academic journals. This event represents a significant opportunity for emerging IS researchers from around the world to gain exposure, refine their ideas, and expand their professional networks.

Document Requirements
Students should submit the following:
a) One-page CV, which must include student’s full name, affiliation, department, and name of the principal faculty supervisor, and
b) Summary of a completed research project or one that is a work in progress. This summary paper should include the research question, a justification for why and to whom the research is important. It also should include a brief literature review, a presentation of the theoretical basis for the work, a research model and hypotheses (if applicable), and a description of the research design.
The paper should not exceed 8 pages (inclusive of all items) and must be formatted as follows: Times New Roman or equivalent font, 11-point font size, single-spaced, with 2.54 cm (1 in) margins all around. Number all pages. Submissions not adhering to these length limits will be rejected.

Professor Alain Y.L. Chong
Alain Chong is a Professor in Information Systems and the Vice Provost for Global Engagement and Partnerships at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). He has previously served as the Dean of the Graduate School. Alain earned his PhDs from the University of Nottingham and Multimedia University Malaysia. Alain has published over 100 published articles in information systems and operations management journals. Alain has been recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians by Junior Chamber International in 2012. He has consistently been named one of the Most Cited Chinese Researchers by the Elsevier Scopus database since 2015. His contributions have earned him multiple accolades including the Ningbo 3315 Foreign Talent Scheme award, the Westlake Friendship Award in 2023, and the Ningbo Camellia Award in 2020 for his contributions to Zhejiang Province and Ningbo city. Alain has secured research funding from prestigious bodies such as the HK General Research Fund, the Royal Society, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Malaysia Fundamental Research Grant Scheme. He holds several editorial roles such as being the co-editor-in-chief of Industrial Management & Data Systems, Associate Editor of Decision Support Systems, Information & Management and the Journal of Computer Information Systems.
Professor Chee-Wee Tan
Chee-Wee Tan is a Professor at the Department of Management and Marketing in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Before joining PolyU, Chee-Wee is a Professor w/ Special Responsibilities in Research Excellence at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). Chee-Wee received his PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of British Columbia. His research interests focus on design and innovation issues related to digital platforms. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Journal of Operations Management (JOM), Information Systems Research (ISR), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), and Decision Support Systems (DSS), among others. Chee-Wee is holding or has held Honorary and Guest Professorship positions at Lingnan University (LNU), Monash University Malaysia (MUM), the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society. Additionally, Chee-Wee has a Senior Editor for MISQ, Chee-Wee has served or is currently serving on the editorial boards for ACM Distributed Ledger Technologies: Research and Practice (DLT), DSS, EJIS, Industrial Management & Data Systems (IMDS), IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management (IEEE-TEM), Information & Management (I&M), Information Systems Journal (ISJ), Internet Research (IntR), Journal for the Association of Information Systems (JAIS), Journal of Computer Information Systems (JCIS), Journal of Management Analytics (JMA), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), and MIS Quarterly (MISQ). Finally, Chee-Wee is the Vice President of Publications for the Association for Information Systems.
Professor Christy M.K. Cheung
Christy M.K. Cheung currently holds the position of Chair Professor in Information Systems and Digital Innovation Management at Hong Kong Baptist University, where also serves as the Director of the Research Office. She is the awardee of the prestigious RGC Senior Research Fellow and obtained HK$7.8 million over a period of 60 months. Throughout her career, Christy has been involved in numerous research projects, serving as the Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for over 25 research grants. These grants include prestigious funding sources such as the General Research Fund, UGC Additional Funding for Teaching and Learning Related Initiatives, Joint Research Fund from the National Natural Science Foundation of China among others. The total funding secured by Christy for these projects exceeds HK$12 million.
Christy’s research interests revolve around IT and User Behaviors, Social Media and Electronic Commerce, and IT and Societal Implications. She has made significant contributions to the field, with over 200 refereed articles in esteemed international journals and conference proceedings. Her work has been featured in prominent publications such as European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, Information Systems Research, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, MIS Quarterly and many others.
Recognized for the quality and impact of her research, Christy has received several prestigious awards, including the Emerald Literati Network Adwards for Excellence (2007: 2016), and the Best Paper Awards at International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2003). Christy has also assumed various academic leadership roles. She has been serving as the Editor-in-Chief of Internet Research since 2016, successfully elevating the journal from AJG Level 2 to Level 3 in 2021. Additionally, she has held Seniopr Editor and Associate Editor positions for several major IS journals, including Information Systems Journal, Information Systems Research, Journal of the Association for Information Systems and others.
Her commitment to scholarly excellence has been recognized with awards such as "Excellence in Reviewing" Honorable Mention and "Best Reviewer" in the Journal of Association of Information Systems in 2018 and 2020 respectively. Furthermore, she actively engages with the information systems community. She currently serves as the President of the Association for Information Systems (AIS-Hong Kong Chapter) since 2017. She has also chaired and participated in various roles at leading IS conferences, including ICIS, ECIS, AMCIS, and PACIS.
Professor Hefu Liu
Liu Hefu, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Management of the University of Science and Technology of China, specializes in research areas including data element circulation, IT value creation, digital business models, and omni-channel management. He has led several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including youth, general, key, and outstanding youth projects, as well as major special projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. His research has been published in mainstream international academic journals such as the Journal of Operations Management (JOOM), MIS Quarterly (MISQ), and Production and Operations Management (POM), and he has received the first prize in Natural Science from the Ministry of Education (ranked fourth), and is recognized as a Highly Cited Scholar in China by Elsevier. Currently, he serves as an associate editor for SSCI journals including Information Technology and People (ITP), Industrial Management & Data Systems (IMDS), and Electronic Commerce Research and Applications (ECRA).
Professor Xue Yang
Professor Yang Xue currently serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Marketing and E-commerce at the Business School of Nanjing University, and is also the director of the office for quality improvement and accreditation at the Business School. She obtained her Ph.D. in Information Systems from the National University of Singapore and her bachelor's degree in Information Management and Information Systems from Nanjing University. Her main research interests include the digital economy and platform economy, big data management, mobile and social commerce, and the application of information systems. Her research has been published in more than thirty leading domestic and international journals and conferences, including Information Systems Research, Organization Science, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, International Journal of Information Management, Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, and Management Science. She has led several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (youth and general projects), interdisciplinary team special projects for young scholars at Nanjing University, participated in innovative group research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and major projects of the National Social Science Fund, and has received awards such as the third level of the sixth round of the "333 High-Level Talent Training Project" in Jiangsu Province, Outstanding Young Scholar of Social Sciences in Jiangsu, Excellent Young Core Teacher in the "Blue Project" of Jiangsu Higher Education Institutions, Young Core Teacher of Nanjing University Business School, Science and Research New Star Award of the Business School, Xinhua Daily Media Group Outstanding Young Teacher Award of Nanjing University, and the Du Sha Prize Teaching Award of Nanjing University. Professor Yang serves as an associate editor for SSCI journals such as Information & Management, Electronic Commerce Research, Journal of Global Information Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Electronic Business & Digital Economics, and as the executive editor of "Nanjing University Business Review", a committee member of several international conferences, and an expert reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation Committee and the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education.
Dr Yu Tong
Dr Yu Tong obtained her PhD in Information Systems from National University of Singapore. Her research interests cover health information technology, use and management of information systems, and emerging forms of IT-enabled collaboration such as spontaneous virtual teams and open innovation. Her work has been published in journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and Information & Management. She has chaired several grants including Outstanding Youth Fund from National Natural Science Foundation of China, General Research Fund from Hong Kong Research Grant Council. She also received Early Career Award from Hong Kong university grants committee and several research and best paper awards.
