The Competition was organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), encouraging students from the Chinese mainland, Macao and overseas with a background in accounting or business study to join. It aims to evaluate students' academic abilities and knowledge in the business field by tackling practical problems and applying their skills while also developing their critical thinking and broadening their international outlook.
This year, the competition's business case study focused on the Digital Entertainment Industry, and the participating students were required to submit a business plan from the perspective of a consulting firm. They had to apply their financial knowledge and business analysis skills to suggest strategies for their clients to improve cost control, corporate governance, market operations and more to help the company sustain its growth.
A total of 414 teams from different colleges and universities competed in the Competition. Eight teams, including two teams from UIC, were shortlisted for the grand finals.
