"HKICPA QP Empowers UIC Accounting Students on the Road to Success"

On the evening of October 24, 2024, the lecture "HKICPA QP Empowers UIC Accounting Students on the Road to Success," organized by the Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) Accounting Department, was successfully held in T2-102. The lecture invited Ms. Li Ying, Assistant Manager of Mainland China Affairs at the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), to share with the teachers and students present the relevant information and requirements of the HKICPA QP examination.

At the beginning of the lecture, Dr. Zheng Minhong and Dr. Tang Yuyan of the Accounting Department warmly welcomed Ms. Li Ying on behalf of the college.




During the lecture, Ms. Li Ying introduced various aspects of the HKICPA, including the career development path of Hong Kong Institute accountants, a detailed introduction to the QP professional qualification courses, and the mutual recognition of QP with the Chinese Certified Public Accountants and Australian Certified Public Accountants qualifications. She encouraged students to actively participate in the professional qualification examination of Hong Kong Certified Public Accountants to open up broader career development space.

Ms. Li Ying also detailed the advantages of HKICPA membership, including the HKICPA being one of the founding members of the Global Accounting Alliance, with very high authority; especially the HKICPA's mutual recognition arrangement with other chartered accountant associations on five continents, which adds even more attractive charm to the HKICPA.



Regarding the question of how to exchange CICPA and HKICPA qualification certificates, which is of concern to the majority of students, Ms. Li Ying also gave a detailed answer, guiding UIC students on how to obtain CICPA and HKICPA dual certificates in the shortest time. This part of the explanation gave the teachers and students present a deeper understanding of the HKICPA QP exam.


Ms. Li Ying also detailed the preparation details related to the content of the HKICPA exam, including unit exam details, end-to-end student support, QP exemption subject corresponding course table, QP application and registration, QP timetable, exam and workshop locations, HKICPA membership requirements, etc. She encouraged students to open up broad and diverse career development opportunities through the QP course.


During the Q&A session, students actively asked questions. This lecture effectively answered students' doubts about applying for the HKICPA QP exam and provided a clear path for their future career development planning.


The outstanding advantage of UIC's accounting major: UIC's accounting major is one of the two mainland university accounting majors certified by the HKICPA. Students can be exempted from 10 QP exam Modules. The HKICPA qualification certificate plays an important role in enhancing the career prospects of accounting students.

This lecture provided a valuable learning and exchange opportunity for UIC's accounting students, further deepened their understanding and comprehension of the HKICPA QP exam, and actively promoted their future career planning and development.
