On June 8, 2025, the CGMA Global Business Challenge - North Asia Final concluded successfully at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. This prestigious competition attracted top university teams from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, and Mongolia, showcasing intense competition and remarkable performances.
In this highly challenging event, Team Strive, composed of four third-year accounting students from the Faculty of Business and Management, BEIJING NORMAL-HONG KONG BAPTIST UNIVERSITY— Lingfan Fu (team leader), Yiyi Huang, Hanxiang Liu, and Ziqi Mai — demonstrated exceptional business insight, precise decision-making, and outstanding on-site performance to secure third place.
Unlike previous competitions, the North Asia Final introduced a brand-new “8-hour timed challenge” format, which posed unprecedented demands on participants’ time management, decision-making efficiency, and adaptability. From receiving the case at 9 a.m. on June 7 to submitting the final solution by 5 p.m., Team Strive, under the dedicated guidance of Dr. Brian Lam, Dr. Meng He, and Chief Advisor Dr. Wing Sun Li, worked seamlessly as a team. They efficiently analysed information, deconstructed problems, and designed solutions within a limited timeframe while preparing high-quality presentation materials. Their well-rounded presentation and precise business insights deeply impressed the judges, earning them high praise.
Reflecting on the experience, team member Hanxiang Liu shared, “From the campus selection round to the Mainland finals and then to the North Asia Final, I’ve truly experienced the charm of accounting and business analysis. Each challenge has helped me grow and gain confidence.” Moreover, Mai Ziqi said, "I am deeply grateful for the tremendous support from our school and teachers, as well as my amazing teammates who stood by me day and night. Through this competition, I’ve learned that we should never set limits for ourselves—once we break them, we take a step forward."
This achievement not only showcases the students’ capabilities and resilience but also highlights the success of BNBU's Accounting Program in cultivating high-caliber talent with global perspectives and practical skills. Looking ahead, we anticipate more outstanding students from BNBU to continue breaking barriers and embracing new challenges across various fields.
