UIC Mentor Caring Programme (MCP)

The Mentor Caring Programme (MCP) is a programme specially designed for UIC first-year students, professors and teachers as mentors, and senior students as peer mentors. With their help and companionship through the first year of college, newcomers could quickly adapt to college life. In the MCP Programme, there are generally 7 to 13 members in one group, with one mentor and one - two peer mentors.

In order to allow the mentors to utilize their weekly consultation hours, the Faculty has launched the “MCP Consultation and Activity Hours” Scheme from Semester 1, 2020-2021. The mentors will allocate two hours out of their ten consultation hours per week principally to accommodate more frequent, more regular, and more varied interactions with their MCP groups.
