Enrollment for Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc) Programme, 2019/20

With the approval of Ministry of Education of the PRC, the Division of Business and Management (DBM) is launching a new Master of Professional Accountancy Programme (MPAcc) in the coming academic year 2019/2020.

With the establishment of the Graduate School in 2017, United International College (UIC), launched a taught master’s programme titled Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc). The MPAcc is offered by the Division of Business and Management (DBM) on UIC Zhuhai campus. The Programme starts with a one-year, full-time mode, and the medium of instruction is English.

The primary objective of the Programme is to provide a pathway for business and non-business undergraduates who would like to pursue an accounting career or transition into the accounting profession. The students will be equipped with up-to-date international accounting knowledge and practical skills. The Programme also prepares students to pursue professional qualification of Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

The MPAcc Programme will apply for professional accreditation and prepare its students to enroll in professional qualification programmes, such as the internationally recognized HKICPA Qualification Programme (QP), that provide the knowledge and skills needed to become a CPA.

With the continued reform of China’s capital markets and further economic development under the “One Belt One Road” initiative, there will be increasing demands for professional and international accountants within the next decade. Employers are looking for competent and ethical professional accountants who possess strong critical thinking, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. The MPAcc Programme integrates theory and practice to develop future executives and leaders to discharge and support the key organizational functions of companies operating in today’s globalized world.

MPAcc Programme graduates’ placement rate, starting salary, and career prospects in Mainland China are statistically higher than those from other postgraduate business programmes. Prospective accounting professionals need to build their expertise and capabilities to embrace changes. Continuous learning in both international reporting standards and domestic legal developments is essential. The Programme equips graduates with not only the know-how for a successful accounting career, but also an open mind to become lifelong learners.

We welcome all eligible candidates to join our programme!
