" Gone were the UIC days, but the fond memories stay, always – the jam-packed workloads, multifarious extra-curricular activities, the serene campus, the Capping/Hair-Pinning Ritual, etc. My UIC experience was an important life journey to me: I found my gait by keeping pace with the competition, gained friendship and joy among friends, and bathed in immersing experiences. It is the gradual accretion of the learning at UIC that had enabled me to begin this new chapter at Australian National University (ANU).

My independence and adaptability skills took origin in the education I received at UIC, which had enabled me to settle in and manage my life and studies in Australia with ease and to enjoy without delay the lectures and discussions with professors and classmates at ANU. In Australia, I further developed my MHR knowledge, made good friends, acquired more and polished my English skills. These are all built on the good foundation of my undergraduate studies at UIC.

"Graduating from UIC was more than the completion of a very significant journey; it is the most important transition point in my life. It was the time when I had the most memorable moments. My first taste of freedom came when I got offers from my dream schools (e.g. University of Warwick) and my preferred employers (e.g. Bytedance).  

The best moments of joy came from the many group projects I had completed with my teammates. The forming of the teams, the allocating of roles, the brainstorming of ideas, the putting together of the reports, the presentations in English and the Q&A sessions afterwards – the spark of each stage of development eventually consummated in the final outcome of collective wisdom. The discussions and debates were seriously conducted, as if they were rehearsals for the real ‘thing’. We learned gradually to morph from being a passive learner to an articulate speaker of our own thoughts, and from a group of green horns of different backgrounds to a coherent team prolific in ideas. All these not only enhanced our analytical skills and team building competencies, but also our ability to assert ourselves. It is these kinds of attributes and our English proficiency developed through the daily routines at UIC that had enabled us to stand out from any pool of competent applicants.

My past four years attest to the saying I heard before I came to UIC: " Going through the fours years at UIC will be equivalent to going through the last tough year at high school four times. I have no regret but gratitude to UIC and to my MHR teachers. I wish my alma mater all the best and all my fellow students at UIC a better future."

It can be said that if I had not studied in UIC, I would not be what I am today. UIC advocates liberal education and whole-person education. The biggest gain for me is that it taught me a very important life lesson, that is, don't set limits on yourself easily. If you decide to do something, don't question whether you can do it, just go for it. Therefore, these years of experience in UIC gave me courage and confidence and I applied for the PhD. On the one hand, it taught me to be brave enough to pursue what I wanted to do. On the other hand, it benefits from the curriculum of human resource Management. Our major is not only related to human resources, but also other courses related to business management, such as accounting, finance, marketing and so on. This allowed me to choose more majors when applying for graduate and doctoral degrees. Welcome to apply for UIC and human resource management!

In UIC, Eastern and Western thoughts and cultures produce sparks of wisdom in the collision and blending. It is located in the rapidly developing international Dawan district and draws a blueprint of knowledge on the coast of Zhuhai.

In my four years of University, I won Feng Shenjun's national conditions and Sinology scholarship and Xu Jialu's whole person education scholarship. UIC provides students with eastern and Western cultural wisdom and freedom of development.

Plan to pursue postgraduate studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong

The whole person education in UIC has always encouraged us to develop in an all-round way. In addition to the normal courses, we have enough time to participate in extracurricular activities, such as internships, international volunteers, overseas studies, etc. MHR's internship class encourages us to enter the real workplace society during campus, and provides a good platform for us to summarize our performance and share our experience. Last summer vacation, I worked as a medical headhunting intern in Kerui international company for three months. Headhunting is equivalent to a bridge between enterprises and candidates, it not only helped customer enterprises recruit suitable high-end talents for interview, but also provided opportunities for promotion and salary increase for talents in these industries. In this internship, I could have the opportunity to apply the professional knowledge to my work, such as recruitment skills, labor law, salary system and so on. At the same time, my communication ability, analysis and matching ability, negotiation ability and anti pressure have been well trained and improved.

UIC provides us with many chances to participate in overseas activities. I once participated in the Thai volunteer trip organized by UIC and volunteered for one month at the father ray foundation in Pattaya. Led by the school teachers, a team of ten people was formed to implement and publicize the activities of each institution. The whole process exercised our team cooperation ability and leadership, and the experience of the activities also expanded our perspective.

The competitiveness that UIC brings to me is undoubtedly English proficiency. In fact, the degree itself is just a stepping stone, and UIC has reached the threshold of many large companies. Many senior students are admitted by Tencent, Procter & Gamble, Ali and the big four accounting firms. But when a degree can reach the ability to get a key to the success, it depends on an individual's hard power. Personally, my English level has improved a lot during the four years of learning. My good English level helped me directly get the offer from Philips, a foreign company. Compared with other candidates, my fluent oral English helped me to stand out quickly.

Teachers of Management of Human Resources encouraged students to actively participate in and applied their knowledge in the class. Through four years of study and training, dialectical thinking is deeply rooted in my mind. In addition to studying professional courses, I had the opportunity to contact the elective courses I was interested in, which not only expanded my horizons but also made me see more possibilities in the future.

Besides learning the basics of the textbook, the help of case analysis and display also made me gain a lot of experience. Such public display skills enable me to express myself more calmly and confidently in any case. In summary, UIC's all-English teaching model has given me a lot of valuable opportunities to practice speaking and writing. In this way, it not only laid a solid foundation for my language achievement test but also made me stand out in the interview of well-known foreign enterprises and obtain internship opportunities. At the same time, the opinions and help given by all teachers are valuable wealth on my way to apply for research.

With the help of MHR professors, I was admitted to my dream School, London School of Economics and Political Science, to continue my study. During UIC, I learned not only the knowledge in books, but also the positive attitude and flexible way of thinking towards learning, work and life. Four years of college life let me know that there is more than one way to achieve my goal. What I have to do is to explore the law of things' development, so as to find the most suitable way for myself. UIC education is like this. The coexistence of equality, fairness and diversity not only cultivates students' team spirit, but also provides enough space and platform for students to get personalized development. Whole person education enables students to develop in many aspects, and the judgment of grades does not only rely on written examinations or tests, presentation, case studies and various internship experiences, which enable UIC students to grow into talents who can adapt to the school and society at the same time. The four years in UIC are no easier than those in senior three, and they bear no less pressure than those in senior high school. Learning from morning to night every day sometimes makes them out of breath, especially in the first few months of freshman year. However, after adapting to such an educational environment and model, we will deeply realize that what we learn in UIC is much more practical than the courses of many other domestic colleges and universities. After going to the UK, I was even more surprised to find that many of my undergraduate knowledge coincided with the courses offered by foreign master's students. From this, we can also see UIC's determination in cultivating talents. I also know many junior partners in the MHR collective. The degree of collective unity is far beyond my imagination. We help each other and work hard for our dreams. It is this campus atmosphere that has created UIC people's character of honesty, tenacity, unity and mutual assistance.
