Academic Advising

Academic advising is a critical component in the success of undergraduate students. Our Academic Advising Programme targets at facilitating and assisting students in achieving educational, career and life goals. Specific programme objectives include:

a) Encouraging a high level of student-teacher interaction and mentorship;

b) Helping students feel they are part of the UIC community; and

c) Ensuring that students spend their time at UIC in the most productive and positive way.

All Yr. 2-4 MHR students may benefit from our dedicated team of Academic Advisors, who are faculty staff, Instructors or Assistant Instructors in different subject areas. They will host in-person appointment and offer advice to our students individually or in groups regularly. Our academic advising is more than offering information about academic courses and programs; it also involves encouraging students to formulate important questions about the direction of their education, to explore options to broaden their academic experience and to achieve academic goals.
